Often compared to France's Côte d'Azur in its jet-set era of the 1950s, Croatia's Dalmatian Coast is blessed with southern sun, clear azure waters, teeming nature, delicious fresh cuisine, white stoned villages and palpable history on every step: Greeks, Romans, Venetians and Slavs have all deposited their finest treasures on the Dalmatian Coast. Island hopping is the itinerary of choice, with rustic villages, chic ports, unspoiled islands and hidden beaches to discover. Our Croatia adventure tour takes place aboard the gorgeous Fortuna Dalmata sailing yacht, where a small group of Maverick guests will enjoy this summer adventure of a lifetime.

Split
Split is clearly a modern port city full of young people, but upon entering you are quickly reminded of the Ancient Roman roots of this town the imposing Diocletian Palace overlooking the town leaves no space for doubts. The Renaissance city center proudly shows off its Venetian traits, and the palm trees that line the beachfront announce that you have arrived in the gateway of the Dalmatian Coast. In Split, we will enjoy a welcome lunch in a charming riverside cafè before before embarking on the Fortuna Dalmata.
Brač Island
A gorgeous pine-covered island, Brač is the largest of Dalmatia. One of the most famous beaches in Croatia, the Zlatni Rat, is on the island. Its 500 meters of golden sand constantly shift their shape over the course of the day. The island is also known for windsurfing and other watersports. We will anchor near Pucisca and Selo, famous for its marble (used for building the White House). For foodies, there will be an optional excursion to visit a local producer of Bracki, a delicious variety of goat cheese, and for fans of hiking a visit to the Blaca Monastery.
Vis Island
Vis remains one of the most virgin islands of Dalmatia, as it was a forbidden Yugoslav army base until 1991. While the island's seclusion attracts the rich and famous, the towns of Vis and Komiza remain casual, quirky little villages with several excellent fresh-cuisine restaurants and some secluded nudist beaches. One of the must-do attractions on Vis is the Blue Grotto of Biševo. You may also use the on-board snorkeling kits to explore on your own the sea life and the virgin azure caves interspersed throughout the island.
Hvar Island
Labeled "the Capri of the Adriatic," Hvar is the chic harbor of the homonimous island. Hvar was established by the Venetians who have generously left behind a breathtaking heritage of beautiful villas, monasteries, cathedrals and citadels. We will anchor in Hvar Town to enjoy the beach clubs during the day and glitzy lounges at night. We will also visit a prominent wine maker who excels in producing on the local varieties of Vugava and Pancic wines.
And at night, for the adventurous who feel up for it, we can do night swimming in the Pakleni mini-archipelago a few miles away from Hvar Town. It is a necklage of virgin mini-islands with intricate grottos you will rejuvenate in the silence infused with the aromas of lavendar and olive groves.
Korčula Island
Ancient Greeks used to call Korčula the "Black Kerkyra" because of the thickness of the deep-green, lush forests that dominate. The island of Korčula, also the birthplace of the world's most famous traveler Marco Polo, is quite lively with options for shopping, beautiful beaches and watersports. We might stop by Lumbarda, one of the most picturesque villages of the island.
In the morning, you can use the on-board fishing kits to try your luck against the savvy inhabitants of the Korčula waters. And with a little bit of luck, you can lunch on your own catch (or on the catch of a fellow guest who was a little bit luckier than you).
Mljet Island
Mljet is a green, unspolied paradise of which over 1/3 is protected national park. Legend says Odysseus spent seven years here, enchanted by the beauty of the island. Mljet's dining scene is unpretentious and known for serene, open-air taverns serving premium fresh seafood lobster, oysters and mussels with cold beer or white wine.
Our boat will take us to visit a forgotten Benedictine monastery that rests on a tiny island near the Mljet coastline. You can only get there by boat.
The wild and isolated Blace beach will be one of our goals perhaps the last swim before arriving in Dubrovnik. You can use the on-board canoe to explore on your own (as long as you do not get too far away from the boat!).
Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is the most iconic town in Croatia, and its Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is seeped in culture both ancient and ultra modern.. Our last night of the tour, we will stay in a hotel in the finest of Dubrovnik's hotels, with a private beach and unforgettable views. The rest of the evening is yours: explore, taste and enjoy this Adriatic jewel.
